December 2011

Hi everyone,

Well I have so much to tell you…

Firstly, Ron’s boss approached him and said she was touched by the way we had given up things to come here. She told Ron she wanted to bless us for it and offered us to stay in a house she has until January, rent free!

We came to the view the house and were blown away, it’s in approx. 1 acre of land that is all landscaped, and it has 3 double bedrooms in the house and 4 double outer rooms. More importantly it has running hot water, a fridge, a cooker and a good supply of electricity for most of the day.

Whilst we were viewing the neighbour offered us around to his property, he is aid to the King and has a swimming pool; he offered us to use it any time want!!! We cannot believe how much God has blessed us.

The children at the School are wonderful. The P7 pupils are the first to have come through all of House of Joy school from Primary level, so we are about to say goodbye to the children who started with us right back in the beginning. We had a leaving party which was very emotional, but 27 children of the 34 declared they had come to Jesus since being at House of Joy School. How wonderful and faithful our God is.

Please be encouraged that all your financial, practical and prayer support is really doing amazing things in Uganda. Even if you are never able to meet the people here, or see the school, you can know that you are making a real difference.

Thank you for all your on-going support we love you and appreciate you all.

God bless,

Ron, Joy and Nicholas xx

November 2011

Hello everyone,

Well, we have started the building of our Esther House on Monday 7th November 2011. It was a great day for me as it is something I have had in my heart for a long time.

It has taken us until now to start due to the huge increase in building materials. We don’t technically have enough money to complete but we are all believing that we will be built, completed and open in February 2012.

Well our first miracle has already happened, everyone had a different idea where it should be built, but I went with what I had seen, we dug down just a short depth only to find we are building on natural rock which is the same size as the house, this will save us money that we had allocated for the foundation.

Please continue to pray, that God will provide for the building work, and also a permanent home for us as a family.

God Bless

October 2011

Time is flying in Uganda, and I absolutely love living here! God has been so good to us.

Nicholas has started in a lovely school, where he boards during the week and comes home at the weekends. I think he found it a little hard at first, but is settling in well now.

We have eventually found a house, which we can move into in November. We feel blessed, as it is more than we could have imagined.

Our children at House of Joy are so fabulous and I am grateful for what God is doing here, and for letting us be a part of it all. He is really making a way for us in so many areas. What an amazing work!

I don’t want you to think that it is all plain sailing, as we are continuing to come up against many challenges, but nothing can outweigh the blessings that we feel.

God bless!

September 2011

Well we’re just about coming up to completing our first month in Uganda. It’s been a month of both great and trying times, but we wouldn’t change a thing! We know without a doubt that we have done the right thing by moving to Uganda.

The plans have now been drawn up for the Esther House and we are negotiating the costs. It looks great and I am very excited! Hopefully we will be able to upload the floor plan to the website soon.

To finish my first (of many!) blogs, I would like to share this story with you. Ron, Nicholas and I were making our way home one day when a sudden heavy rainstorm started. A lady with a little shack by the side of the road invited us in to shelter with her. I was grumbling to myself about the nuisance of the rain, when suddenly from the hut next door came three children of about six years old. They were naked, and had a bar of soap ready to take an impromptu shower in the rain.

It was such an innocent and wonderful sight to see, and God spoke to me about how one person’s inconvenience is another’s opportunity.

God bless!
